This Qualification has been tailored to address the needs of supervisors and team leaders in the agriculture sector.

Industry expects that individuals with this Qualification will take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others. Students will develop skills in communicating solutions to a range of predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

Passionate and highly skilled lecturers will share their extensive industry knowledge to equip students for work in the agriculture sector. This course prepares students for roles such as farm/ shed supervisor, station/ property manager and agribusiness administrator.

As an aquaculture attendant, you may undertake a range of routine tasks such as: 

• Handling animals 
• Feeding animals  
• Monitoring animals
• Monitoring environmental conditions
• General housekeeping, hygiene and biosecurity practices 

The skills that you will learn will be relevant to other work environments where you may find work, including: 

• Offshore and Onshore aquaculture farms 
• Aquarium wholesalers and retailers 
• Hatcheries and nurseries 
• Live post-harvest holding facilities

All work is carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety, food safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace. 

This course is only available to learners planning to engage in a Traineeship, OR currently working in the aquaculture industry.

This course teaches best practices in customer service, communication, and strategies to overcome business challenges. 

Students will learn how to effectively manage resources and schedules while improving their digital literacy and numeracy skills. This course also develops critical thinking and business operations and covers important topics such as sustainability, inclusivity, well-being, and safety. Designed to meet the specific needs of the North West region, students completing this Qualification as part of a Traineeship will apply their skills in the workplace, while others will learn in a simulated online environment.

In response to industry needs, this course focuses on transferrable skills in reading, writing and communication, as well as operating efficiently in a digital environment. 

This course covers digital communication and report-writing, operational planning and problem-solving, business networking, self-management, leadership and workplace health and safety.

If you are completing this course as part of a traineeship, you will put your skills into practice in the workplace while learning. Those without a workplace will learn within a simulated virtual online environment. 

You will learn about best practices for communication, inclusivity, problem solving and stress management.

This course covers the planning and scheduling of works, procurement processes, digital and literary competency in business, basic financial transactions, record keeping and the importance of business sustainability. 

This course has been developed to fit the specific industry needs of the Northwest region, and provide in-demand support to small and large businesses in the areas of accounts and data entry. 

This Qualification has been developed to grow your knowledge in needs identification, service planning and development, and team leadership. 

Throughout this course, students will learn about natural area conservation, ecological restoration, nursery work, machinery operation and maintenance, safe work practices and basic chemical safety.

Students will complete written assignments and work in teams to undertake programs that assist in maintaining the natural environment. This course prepares students for entry-level positions in businesses and organisations such as ranger groups, nurseries, parks and wildlife. 

PLEASE NOTE: An updated version of this Qualification is being introduced in 2025. As we are committed to providing you with industry ready Qualifications, new students will be enrolled in the latest version.

Throughout this course, students will learn how to plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations and also learn about WHS requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the construction industry.

This course is the nationally regulated entry-level Qualification for educators who wish to support the development and well-being of children from birth to school age in an early childhood education and care setting.

• Perform CPR in an emergency situation (adult and infant)
• Provide first aid for a range of conditions

Please note: This course consists of practical assessments that are completed while working on the floor, therefore we suggest wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

On successful completion of this course, students can request a credit for the CPR unit: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Undertaking theory and practical activities, participants will be guided through the operation of a forklift, ensuring:

• Risk control measures are implemented
• Traffic management is carried out in accordance with workplace procedures
• Pre-start and operational checks are completed
• Loads are monitored correctly
• Shutdown procedures are carried out

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment and Notice of Assessment. NR TAFE will submit an Application for High Risk Work Licence (Class LF) on your behalf, providing all requirements* are met.

The three-day course may also be shortened with prior industry knowledge or machine experience.

This course has been designed to allow you to better connect with yourself, participate in teamwork, join networks and build the confidence to achieve meaningful outcomes in your life. 

Throughout this course, you will participate in a practical project which not only benefits your class, community or workplace, but also contributes to your own skill development. Course content can be tailored around specific industry areas, depending on the group’s interest.

This course is available at other campus locations upon request.

This course has been designed to maximise your employability potential and develop your confidence to seek further employment or education.

You will learn how to establish and maintain productive working relationships using effective communication and teamwork skills, undertake and complete allocated tasks to workplace standards and meet various other workplace requirements.

A major component of this course is active participation in a team or community-based project. You are required to work in a team to undertake a practical project which benefits not only the team or community, but also contributes to your own skill development and achievement.

The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management explores a range of topics relevant to those wishing to pursue a career as an office manager, team leader or supervisor.

Workplace leadership roles require strong communication skills and the ability to motivate your team. You will need to be organised and able to handle several tasks at one time, and this course can help you get there.

This course covers the principles of leadership and management, and will guide you through the use of effective written and verbal communication, from report writing to problemsolving, and network and relationship building. You will learn about operational planning, getting the most out of digital technology and initiating workplace health and safety operations. 

Throughout this course, students will undertake a combination of written assignments and hands-on tasks including tractor operations, cattle processing and mustering in teams. 

Students will gain skills in machine operations, horse husbandry, handling and caring for livestock, treating weeds as well as installing and maintaining fencing.

After completing this course, students will be job-ready for entry-level positions in agriculture, farming, market gardens, and mixed rural enterprises.

This Qualification is taught by industry professionals with extensive experience in rural settings.

This course is currently only delivered to cattle stations and prisons.

The Support Worker Skill Set is designed for those starting out or already employed in the support services industry. This training develops critical skills to help you work more independently, including recognising healthy body systems, applying infection control, and conducting manual tasks safely. With these abilities, you'll be ready to support your clients confidently and effectively.

Throughout this course, students will develop basic skills in utilising the appropriate mediums for different genres of work, and the safe use of art products in the industry.

There are a great many opportunities within the art area from production of small local products to be sold in markets, pop-up shop initiatives, art competitions, art as an engagement pathway for other non-profit organisations, as well as production of works available through local galleries to large works such as paintings, jewellery, ephemeral installations, public art and sculptures for the community and local organisations.
