The Certificate III in Accounts Administration provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in the administrative side of accounting, assisting in the management of finances for an organisation.

This includes financial data entry, processing accounts and payrolls, producing financial reports and providing customer service in financial transactions.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to: 

  •  Manage business activities using computerised accounting software and reconcile financial transactions with precision confidence
  • Develop the ability to perform complex financial calculations, process transactions, and generate financial reports
  • Gain practical skills in administering subsidiary accounts and ledgers, and confidently handle payroll processes in compliance with workplace standards
  • Craft professional-grade business documents that make an impact
  • Master personal work organisation, communicating effectively in the workplace, and collaborating seamlessly within the financial services industry.

This course is suited to you if:

  • You are interested in a career in accounting
  • You have just completed school, are contemplating a career change or re-entering the workforce
  • You are methodical and structured and may have some experience working in an administration setting
  • You enjoy working with numbers, solving mathematical problems and analysing data
  • You will be performing calculations that involve calculating GST, working with percentages, ratios, and decimals
  • Your current level of numeracy means you can use perform simple calculations to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • You have basic computing skills to navigate the internet, produce word documents, use email, save documents locally and upload to a server/cloud
  • Your current level of literacy means you can ready and interpret texts such as policies, procedures and write simple texts using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • If you would like assistance in literacy or numeracy prior to commencing this course, consider enrolling in BSB20120
  • Certificate II in Workplace Skills or BSB30120 Certificate III in Business
  • You will have out of class time available to complete the coursework
