The Certificate II in Construction Pathways is designed to give learners an introduction to recognised trades within the construction industry and offer valuable credit towards an Australian Apprenticeship in construction. This Qualification provides a clear pathway to major trades (excluding plumbing) and equips students with essential skills for entry-level positions in off-site roles such as joinery, carpentry, and bricklaying.

Building and Construction

This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information. 

*Please note that eligibility requirements apply to some of the low fee training.

Study Mode On Campus

Throughout this course, students will learn how to plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations and also learn about WHS requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the construction industry.

 

This Qualification has core units of competency requirements that are required in most Certificate III Qualifications. The elective options are structured to allow choice from areas of trade skills as an introduction to a range of occupations.

Throughout this course, you will gain skills in:

  • Planning and organising work
  • Measurements and calculations
  • Use of carpentry tools
  • Estimations and costings
  • Roof work
  • Levelling
  • Demolitions
  • You are looking to gain employment in the construction industry
  • You are interested in an apprenticeship in the future

On Campus (Broome campus only)

This course is offered through face-to-face delivery in 16 weeks of five days a week.

Traineeship

This course is offered through on the job training delivered in eight blocks of one week each. The blocks are five days a week.

To complete a traineeship you are required to complete on the job training in the workplace.

Not all units and study modes are offered at all campuses. Please check with your local campus.
