If you're excited to begin a career in the automotive industry, this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed for entry-level positions in retail, service, and repair.
Throughout this course, students will learn to evaluate safety in automotive workplaces, identify electrical and mechanical systems, and safely use and maintain tools and equipment. Students will also gain hands-on experience in automotive repairs with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
Additionally, students will cover a variety of entry-level automotive service tasks, including refitting and balancing tyres, stripping and rebuilding engines or disc and drum brakes, the fundamentals of car servicing, splicing and soldering wires, creating a functioning circuit, and understanding car electrics.
Students will gain skills in:
- Workplace safely fundamentals
- Use and maintain basic tools
- Basic automotive mechanicals systems and components
- Vehicles wheels and tyre assemblies
- Basic automotive electrical systems and components
- you are a trainee, including school-based trainees of Yr 10, 11, 12
NR TAFE will deliver this program of training over a period of 20 days per year with up to 140 hours of study.
