Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

We are thrilled to announce that the brand-new training facilities at North Regional TAFE’s Pundulmurra campus in South Hedland are officially open and welcoming students! 🎉 After much anticipation, these modern workshops are set to provide world-class training in heavy automotive, engineering, and hospitality, thanks to the Cook Government’s $48.9 million investment.

New Fitting and Engineering Workshop
The Fitting and Engineering workshop is fully equipped with industry-standard tools and machinery, providing students with the skills needed to thrive in the resources sector. The workshops are designed to support the region's growing demand for qualified tradespeople, offering hands-on experience in heavy automotive, mobile plant, and fixed plant engineering.

Heavy Diesel Workshop
In heavy automotive and mobile plant workshops, students also have access to the Heavy Diesel Workshop. This specialised facility focuses on servicing and maintaining large diesel engines, giving students the expertise required for careers in industries such as mining, construction, and transport.

Hospitality Training Block
The new hospitality training block features a commercial cookery training kitchen, a Barista and bar area, and flexible training spaces, providing students with the opportunity to learn in a professional setting. This facility is already proving to be a game-changer for those looking to enter the vibrant hospitality industry.

Student Training in Action
We are excited to showcase our students in action as they begin their hands-on training in these fantastic new facilities. From budding engineers to aspiring chefs, the new workshops are already shaping the next generation of local workers in the Pilbara region.
