The Rio Tinto Leadership Awards aims to celebrate, and reward nominated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, encourage further study, increase skills, build confidence and offer employment opportunities.
The Leadership Awards are open to all North Regional TAFE students in the Broome, Bidyadanga, Derby and Dampier Peninsula Region!
Category 1: Rio Tinto Aboriginal Student of the Year
- One award valued at $1,000 each
- In the process of completing a Certificate I and a Certificate II,
- Fully completed Certificate III, IV or Diploma Qualification
Category 2: Aboriginal Student Recognition Awards
- Eleven awards valued at $750 each
- In the process of completing a Certificate I and a Certificate II,
- Must have fully completed a Certificate III, IV or Diploma Qualification
Entry requirements:
- Available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Must be aged 17 and above
- You will need to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement or have overcome significant barriers to reach an academic goal
- Students can be nominated by NR TAFE staff or by themselves
- Nominees must be enrolled or on track to complete a certificate II, III, IV or Diploma.
