$5,000 Regional Bursary for International Students Now Open for 2025 Applications!

We are excited to announce the opening of the WA Regional TAFE International Student Bursary 2025, which offers international students a golden opportunity to study in the stunning landscapes of regional Western Australia. With an AUD$5,000 bursary on offer, this scholarship is designed to support students embarking on an unforgettable educational adventure at our Broome campus.

The 2025 Regional TAFE International Student Bursary opens doors to an exciting experience in the heart of the Kimberley region, where vibrant red earth meets white sands and the iconic turquoise sea.

Scholarship Details

The bursary provides AUD$5,000 to eligible international students starting their studies in February 2025. The funds can help cover essential expenses such as accommodation, technology, books, food, and student fees, making life as a student in Western Australia more comfortable.

In addition to the bursary, students will also receive support in finding accommodation and securing part-time work, offering a smoother transition into life in the region.

Study Opportunities at Our Broome Campus

Students can choose from a range of study packages designed to provide practical skills and career pathways. Some of the courses available at the Broome campus include:

Commercial Cookery / Hospitality:

  • SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (12 months)
  • SIT40422 Certificate IV in Hospitality (12 months)

Community Services:

  • CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services (6 months)
  • CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services (6 months)

Early Childhood Education:

  • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (12 months)
  • CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (12 months)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for application and bursary payments, students must:

  • be a genuine international student intending to study on a subclass 500 visa. Must provide proof to TIWA Admissions of either:
    • 1) student visa grant; or
    • 2) student visa application.
  • commence in February or July 2025.
  • maintain a continuous enrolment over at least one year in a valid regional course pathway.
  • maintain ongoing residency in the nominated regional location for the duration of your bursary period. 
  • meet academic and English language requirements before commencement of each course; and
  • understand the bursary will be paid to awarded students in one of two ways either as: 
    • two payments ($2,500 each semester, with the first payment approximately six weeks after the start of the first semester); or 
    • one payment ($5,000 in second semester).
  • Meet financial requirements and obligations for the course without needing or relying on the bursary for tuition, resources, and/or material fees.

How to Apply

Applying for the WA Regional TAFE International Student Bursary is easy. When you submit an online application for an eligible study package starting in 2025, you’ll automatically be considered for the bursary.
