Mental Health First Aid
Every year one in five Australians experience a diagnosable mental illness.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) provides you the participant with the knowledge and skills to assist a person experiencing a mental health event, until it resolves or until professional help is engaged. MHFA is an evidence-based training course authored by MHFA Australia and delivered by our accredited NR TAFE MHFA instructors.

When Semester 2, 2023
Study Mode On Campus
The 2-day course covers recognition, response and intervention to the most common mental health disorders, including:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Non-suicidal self-injury
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Psychosis
• Substance use
• Suicidal thoughts
This course is designed for all members of the public aged 18 years and above. It is also suitable for health professionals, front-line staff, human resources staff, team leaders and managers.
*Please note; Short Courses are non-accredited and result in a Certificate of Participation. A non-accredited training course does not count-towards a recognised qualification, but is specially designed to provide hands-on training in a new skill you can use in your personal or professional life, and is a great way to refresh your knowledge or give you a taste of a different industry.
