IELTS Preparation Course (Part A Listening and Reading)
Prepare for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam with North Regional TAFE’s upcoming Short Course.
The IELTS Preparation Course focuses on the vital listening, reading, writing, speaking skills and test protocols participants require to pass an IELTS exam.

Study Mode On Campus
This course is appropriate for anyone who wants to prepare for the International English Language Test System (IELTS). This course is appropriate for Temporary Skill Shortage, Tourist and Working Holiday visa holders. If you are a permanent resident, Australian citizen or the dependent of a 457-visa holder, there are also government subsidised courses available such as the 22472VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults.
There are two courses available:
- IELTS weeklong intensive preparation course – one week
- IELTS weekly course – all year round (Mondays 3:00 – 5:00 pm)
IELTS Intensive Preparation Course – one week
This course provides prospective students with strategies and tips to develop vital listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills to achieve their required band scores. It also allows participants to familiarise themselves with the required IELTS test protocols.
The course is delivered in four sessions, each with a specific competency focus: listening, reading, writing and speaking (details of each session are given below). Students can choose to enrol in one session or multiple sessions according to their specific requirements. However, it is recommended that enrolling in all four sessions will provide students with the most practice before taking the test.
Session 1 - Reading and Listening Skills
Session 2 - Writing Task 1
Session 3 - Writing Task 2
Session 4 - Speaking Skills Practice
IELTS weekly course – all year round (Mondays 3:00 – 5:00 pm)
This weekly course provides prospective students with strategies and tips to develop vital listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills to achieve their required band scores. It also allows participants to familiarise themselves with the required IELTS test protocols. Training is available all year around to address students’ continuous training requirements.
Students get 4 hours of training for each part they enrol in. It is preferred that students enrol in the below parts in order, one at a time (after completing one-part students can enrol in the next part). Students can request for a certificate of participation at the completion of each part.
