The testing and tagging of electrical equipment must be performed by trained individuals. 

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to test and tag electrical equipment as per Australian Standards 3760 and 3012.  Participants will be trained to confidently perform testing and tagging, while meeting compliance and ensuring the safety of staff on the worksite.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including long trousers, a long sleeved shirt and covered footwear must be worn throughout the duration of the course.

Units: 
UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
 
UEERL0003 Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies
 
  • Inspect and test portable, hand-held electrical equipment using a portable appliance tester (PAT)

  • Test electrical equipment in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760

This Skill Set is ideal for individuals who

  • Need to perform testing, tagging, and reporting of portable or handheld low voltage (LV) electrical equipment using a portable appliance tester (PAT) within their workplace.
