Do you know how to operate and maintain your chainsaw in a safe manner?

The appropriate and safe use of a chainsaw is a specialist skill that requires expert training. Get the job done quickly and safely with this 2 day short course!

This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information. 

*Please note that eligibility requirements apply to some of the low fee training. 

^ You will pay half price for the course fees on the Lower fees, local skills courses, however other fees may apply such as for resources that are specifically needed for your training.

Overview

Campus Halls Creek | Kununurra

When Semester 1, 2025

Study Mode On Campus

Participants will learn how to:

  • Safely operate and maintain a handheld chainsaw
  • Recognise and report hazards
  • Participate in arrangements for maintaining work health and safety
Units:
AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws
AHCWHS202 Participate in work health and safety processes

You will need to have the following PPE at a minimum when conducting the practical assessments:

  • Hi-Vis Long sleeve shirt
  • Long Pants
  • Steel Cap Boots
  • Hard Hat
  • Safety Glasses
  • Gloves
