The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety has been designed to equip you with the skills to provide advice and assist with improving safety in your workplace. 

Throughout this course, you will learn how to: 

  • Develop suitable work health and safety documentation, and present and promote it within your workplace 
  • Comply with work health and safety regulations while supporting the workplace 
  • Collect and analyse workplace safety data 
  • Identify hazards and assess risks on domestic and commercial building sites, and establish appropriate control measures for these hazards 
  • Consult with management, subcontractors and workers on health and safety concerns 
  • Contribute to managing incidents and return to work arrangements of staff 
  • Assist with managing on-site contractors 
  • Report writing and presentation development 
  • Work health and safety legislation, consultation and participation processes 
  • Risk management and incident response 
  • Work health and safety management systems 
  • Contractor compliance 
  • Leadership and management
