You'll master the art of storytelling and interpretation, learn to manage groups with cultural and environmental sensitivity, and gain hands-on experience in vessel safety, emergency procedures, and deck operations.

 

  • Master the art of interpretation and storytelling, learning how to deliver engaging commentary and manage groups in culturally and environmentally sensitive ways.
  • You’ll learn vessel safety, emergency procedures, and how to operate small vessels in coastal and inland waters.
  • Learn the basic techniques required for working on deck, including safety procedures and equipment handling.
  • Be prepared for anything with essential first aid and workplace health and safety practices tailored to tourism environments.
  • Elevate guest experiences by developing skills in Responsible Service of Alcohol, communication, and customer care.
  • Build your professional toolkit with insights into the tourism industry’s structure, trends, and career pathways.
  • Learn effective communication techniques for coordinating with crew members and managing on-board tasks.
  • Completion of the units contained in SIT30122 Certificate III in Tourism may lead to completion of MAR10224 Certificate I in Maritime Operations (General Purpose Hand Near Coastal)
