This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information. 

*Please note that eligibility requirements apply to some of the low fee training.

Overview

When Semester 1, 2025

Study Mode On campus

Throughout this course, students will learn how to propagate and maintain nursery plants, install and maintain irrigation systems, treat weeds, pests and diseases safely, and use a range of horticultural equipment. 

Students will also learn about effective pruning, working safely with chemicals, identifying various plants and improving soil conditions.

Passionate and highly skilled lecturers will guide you through each unit of study and also share their extensive industry experience with prospective students. This course is designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge to work effectively in both the private and public sectors, including local and state governments.

If you already possess some industry experience, this course will broaden and enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Operating and troubleshooting irrigation systems
  • Implementing soil improvements
  • Chemical handling and application
     

This course is suited to you if you:
