AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Undertaken as part of a four (4) year apprenticeship, the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology enables students to become a heavy diesel mechanic, servicing and repairing trucks, buses and earthmoving equipment.
This course is low fee* for residents of Western Australia and temporary residents holding certain visa types. An annual fee cap of $400 for those aged 15-24 or concession holders or $1,200 for everyone else, applies to this course. Some eligibility conditions apply for the low fee training and other fees may apply for some courses. Please refer to the FAQs for more information.

Overview
Study Mode Apprenticeship
Training is delivered in modern workshop facilities with industry standard tools and equipment, performing tasks on actual vehicles.
With heavy machinery, it's crucial to ensure that all components are fully operational, including the cooling systems, mechanical equipment, engine, steering and suspension systems, as well as the electrical circuits. Throughout this course, participants will apply their practical skills, while gaining an understanding of how to inspect and service engines, test, use and maintain equipment, and diagnose and repair a range of mechanical problems.
Upon completing the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, you will be prepared for a career in the heavy vehicle industry, equipped with skills applicable to a variety of machines.

- Repair electrical circuits, charging and ignition systems
- Repair steering, hydraulic braking, suspension, cooling systems and engines in heavy vehicles
