This course offers an immersive, real-world experience in our state-of-the-art salons located in Karratha and Broome. 

Students will have the opportunity to work directly with real clients, gaining confidence while using the latest industry tools, equipment, and techniques. Additionally, students will be trained in key salon operations—consulting with clients, managing product sales, and handling financial transactions.
 
Beyond technical skills, this course will prepare students for the business side of hairdressing, covering topics such as maintaining client relationships, operating salon software, and managing workflow. Upon completion, students will be equipped with a diverse skill set that enables them to make informed decisions, exercise discretion, and take full responsibility for their role in any salon environment.


Please note: This course is open for public enrolments. Apprentices will already be employed in a salon full-time and working under a Training Contract. It will be beneficial to students not working under a Training Contract to seek their own work experience.

  • Cutting, shampooing, conditioning and rinsing hair
  • Hair styling (treatments, colouring and lightening, straightening, bleaching)  
  • Drying and styling hair using brushes, combs, rollers and other equipment
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Designing haircuts to meet clients’ needs
  • Stock handling
  • Salon reception duties, including operating a cash register and computer, answering telephone calls, making appointments and operating Point-of-Sale software
