Groundwater Management: Master Sampling and Measurement Techniques

This Qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of sampling and measurement activities as part of field operations directly relevant to groundwater management.

In this course, as a sampler and tester, you will conduct limited sampling and testing as part of your duties in your industry. You will apply a restricted range of skills and operational knowledge to perform these tasks safely.

The Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement provides students with the essential skills and knowledge required to work in industries where precise measurement and data collection are critical.

This hands-on course covers the fundamentals of sampling techniques, measurement systems, and the use of specialised equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in data collection. Students will gain experience in performing measurements, interpreting results, and applying quality control procedures. Ideal for those seeking a career in fields such as manufacturing, construction, and environmental monitoring, this qualification will set you on a path to becoming a skilled professional in measurement and sampling processes.

Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of sampling and measurement activities as part of laboratory, production or field operations in the construction, manufacturing, resources and environmental industry sectors to:
• Follow set procedures to measure and sample ground water
• Package, label, store and transport samples
• Use basic equipment (Water level meters and Multiparameter water quality meters) to make measurements and perform basic tests that take a short time and involve a narrow range of variables and easily recognised control limits.
• Use basic water extraction equipment (bore hole bailer or peristaltic pumps) to remove water from bores.
• Undertake visual inspection of water resources and ground water equipment.
