Share your knowledge and experience of Australian indigenous culture with a nationally recognised tourism qualification. This course prepares you for a career as an Indigenous guide/cultural assistant in the tourism industry.
Throughout this course, you will learn how to interpret aspects of local indigenous culture, provide an engaging service to customers, create tourism briefings and scripted commentary, and work as part of a team.
This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the tourism industry and build your confidence to share knowledge about country to domestic holidaymakers and international tourists alike. This course is currently available on request to closed groups, please enquire at your local campus for further information
Throughout this course, you will gain skills in:
- Interpreting aspects of local Indigenous culture
- Providing visitor information, assisting and engaging with customers
- Creating tourism briefings and/or scripted commentary
- Working safely and effectively as part of a team
- First aid response
- You wish to pass on knowledge and share experiences of Australian Indigenous culture
- You are passionate about tourism in the North West
- You have a specific tourism role, as an Australian Indigenous person or other individual approved by local elders to share aspects of local culture
