This course is suited to school leavers, career starters, or anyone looking to boost their financial literacy. It’s also ideal for community programs, pre-vocational training, or those re-entering the workforce.  This qualification will provide students with the life skills required to be able to manage basics finances and to empower them with the skills and knowledge to be able to make informed decisions that will affect their financial wellbeing.  

This dynamic, hands-on course is designed to equip students with essential financial skills for life, work, and further study. Training is conducted on campus at North Regional TAFE. This course is also offered to organisations wishing to support participants with financial literacy. 

  • Understand income, expenses, savings, and budgeting like a pro
  • Learn how to create and manage personal budgets that actually work
  • Discover how to make informed choices when shopping, comparing prices, and avoiding debt traps
  • Get familiar with bank accounts, online banking, ATMs, and how to avoid sneaky fees
  • Understand superannuation, and learn the basics of tax and government benefits.
  • Learn how to spot scams, protect your money, and make safe financial decisions
  • Build short- and long-term financial goals and learn how to achieve them step by step
  • You are a high school students starting to earn or manage money
  • You are returning or new to study or looking to improve financial independence
  • You are a job seeker preparing for apprenticeships or vocational training
  • Anyone wanting to feel more confident with everyday money matter
